Ok, so who's got it? Played it at a friends place, and boy, the game takes on a whole new level of immersion when using the wheel. Sure, most won't be able to have precise control as with the controllers, but the wheel just feels more.... fun. Plus the graphics are quite improved (imo). This is comparing it to MK DD on GC and MK DS on NDS.

Anyways, would love to hear some comments... and post your gamecodes too, while you're at it.

I bought it Sunday and have been enjoying it quite a bit. Played online with a couple friends and had a blast. The wheel does take some getting used to, but it's a nice twist on a classic series.

I got it on Sunday also. I like the wiimote and nunchuck combo best. So far I've only unlocked one kart. I only do automatic but I'm sure there are pros out there doing that whole blue/red spark and snaking combo.

Isn't that winged blue shell just the most annoying item to hit you right before the finish line?!?

I got it on Sunday, and played it pretty much all afternoon with my wife. The wheel is ok, I tried driving it without the wheel and just hold the controller and using the wheel is easier for drifting. I've gotten really good at manual drifting, I just can't quite get the courses down. The wheel just makes it more fun but i'd still prefer the gamecube controller if they hadn't changed the buttons. I played online and got my butt kicked.

I unlocked a few more carts, two more characters and all the stages on the Grand Prix 50cc level. I think if I took a day off or two I could unlock everything.

Last night I unlocked King Boo, and some princess and a few carts. I also unlocked all the 50 cc tracks and a few 100 cc tracks.

Can you unlock items with multiplayer?

We got it on Monday, and it's a blast! I love the bikes, and the automatic drift feature (never could get the hang of it on the DS). I like the nunchuck & remote. I tend to get excited and make extreme movements during the game, so if I use the wheel I keep crashing all over the place.

I don't believe that you can unlock items or tracks in multiplayer mode.

I unlocked a medium 100cc kart last night.

just bought it today. seems pretty cool so far. went online and got clobbered. ugh.

we're getting slaughtered by the unlocked courses (leaf & lightning). The turns are really sharp, and we keep getting nailed by all sorts of items.

I haven't been brave enough to play online - my experience from the DS is that most people are WAY better then me, and have likely been playing every version of Mario Kart for the past decade!

The first time I played online I got stuck playing Rainbow Road and it sucked. I got finished 12th but really I was a quarter of a track behind 11th place. But i've been playing more online and i've gotten a lot better. I have over 6000 points. I have no idea what the points to.

I still havent figured out why some folks get to race in 150cc and the rest get to race 100cc. Guess when I am good enough they will let me race 150cc.

So far I hit 7000 but lost it all in one sitting back to 5000. Climbed back to 6200 now. And discover the Yoshi supra, that car is drift master.
