Thanks a lot. Just yesterday I needed this to open a file, but didn't have it.

WinRar will install as a "trial version" so you can open a file. Also, the free 7-Zip (www.7-zip.org/) can open .rar files. But having a fully registered version of WinRar is always nice (and even nicer when it is free).

I'm using the free WinRAR 3.51 that was posted here sometimes ago. I have always been using WinRAR ever since I heard of it = no WinZIP.

I think it's funny they send you a key in a rar file.

But once you install WinRar (as a trial), you can open the key .rar file and it will register. Kind of neat, but makes you wonder how else WinRar is "watching" what it opens....

On a slight tangent, I noticed today that the latest version of Winzip (11.2) now supports opening .RAR files.

IzArc has opened .rar files as long as I have been using it, and it is free...

If you can put up with the constant nag screens it is.
Otherwise it's $30
