Cable Modem Replacement: Suggestions Welcomed

Any recommendations for dependable cable modem? I have an old Motorola Surfboard one from at least 5 years ago and I suspect it's dying. I also been through a few routers that I always have to power off/on at least once a week. Would a wireless cable modem be a good investment?

i would go with another surfboard. but that's just me :shrug:

do you just have to powercycle the router itself to get a new connection? what makes you suspect it's dying?

Remember, you may have to call your cable company & give them the new modem's MAC address - at least, that's how Comcast works.

I'd look for a Surfboard SB5100 or SB5101. Both are docsys 2.0, but I've heard they have slightly better throughput than the newer SB5120.
