The most efficient car I have only gets 18mpg. The worst gets under 14mpg, but at least it runs on regular. The others take premium. The erratic curves are due to changing driving habits from tank to tank. Most of my driving is short trips in town, and a single long highway jaunt can skew the numbers quite a bit. Even the 14mpg vehicle can hit 26mpg on a long road trip.
