Got it this morning at Costco for $80. Cheaper than anywhere else. I haven't played it since I had some minor surgery on my left leg yesterday so I watched my wife play. The games and activites are pretty good actually but I feel the physical dimensions of the board is small for American shoe sizes.

Good thing you're not supposed to wear shoes on it :)
My size 11 feet fit fine. We picked up one yesterday and played a bit last night. It's actually pretty fun. It will be interestin to see some of the dedicated games for it when the programmers get used to writing games for it.

I have noticed that it doesn't work well on carpet, kind of like a regular scale. The games and stuff work pretty decent and seem to sense things fine, but it won't get an accurate weight unless I put it on the tile.

Man, I'm so under a rock right now.
I totally thought that this wasn't coming out yet. Doh!

I went to try and pick it up, but it's sold out. I didn't think it would sell out around here. Hopefully someone will get some in soon.

Any one else find the dialogue kind of insulting? I mean it's honest for sure but a little sugar coating would be nice. I think my hearing is bad but I swear for some games when you step on it, it cries out a little electronic voiced "ow". Oh in addition to telling me I'm overweight, it'll plump up my Mii character accordingly. Thanks for the show and tell ya big jerk.

Haha, yeah. A friend of mine weighed on the carpet and it weighed her too light. So when we moved it to the Tile she weighed again and got a "muffin top" added lol.. even though she doesn't have one.
And I've heard it say "Ow" but I weigh like 140, so I don't think it has to do with how big you are. :)

So we went over to a friends house for dinner and to let our kids play over the weekend and brough the Wii fit since they wanted to see it. Watching other people do the ski jump is hilareous! Our friends wife for some reason couldn't get the jump down and snowballed down the hill every time. She was getting more and more frusterated and rest of us were rolling we were laughing so hard.

So does anyone know if there is a weight limit? I went to the main Nintendo site and could find no info. I want to give one to a lady who is really large to try and help her but I couldn't find this info out. Anyone know?

Yeah, My Living room is carpet, and sadly it has made me want to play the Wii Fit less. I mean, it works on Carpet, just not as accurate. And you have to press harder with your feet then just leaning on something. Specially if it's think carpet.

Yeah, that's what Scott read yesterday too. What's funny is that the "Wii Fit" itself is made to hold DOUBLE that. But the game or whatever only goes up to 330. At least, that's what Scott said. Just found the difference amusing.
We don't have a Wii. I wanted to get one of these but... Will have to wait. lol

thanks so much. I must not have looked hard enough or in the wrong place! Now how does one tactfully ask someone their weight?!!
I so can't find this game. My wife has been begging for it since she heard it was coming out and I can't find it.
Damn you skinny people taking all the fat people copies. :shifty:

Ummm.... you don't.
I can see how you're trying to be helpful and kind, but that's not the way this kind of gift would come off as.
Now, if you'd like to give ME one, I'd be grateful. :) LOL

You think it would be misconstrued? Maybe I should just tell her about it? Or maybe I should just let it go. I really think it may help but I certainly don't want to offend. Perhaps I will just let this one go and play it safe.

You can maybe talk about it. About how much fun you're having with yours and how it makes "working out" way fun.

Bringing this post back, because I have an update on Wii Fit.
I haven't played it in probably a month or something, because I am afraid I will turn it on, and it will yell at me for not checking in daily.
~sigh~ it had such potential too! :(

I think if it had a 'workout' mode where you told it how long you wanted to work out and it would string exercises and games together for you it would get a lot more use. Having to back out into the menu and mess with it for a minute or two after each thing you do makes it a lot less fun.
On the other hand, ski jump gets funny when used at parties!

Thesifer, can't you go in and delete the saved game? Then you can start new?
I am kinda kicking myself for not getting one when we saw it at Target - I said to wait...
And now, I want one.

And it groaned when I got on the board.
