Almost got hit by a semi truck that did not yield right of way (had to swerve off of road to avoid collision) and in the process succeeded in pouring a sufficient amount of tea into my notebook to wreck havoc... Anyways after pouring tea out and letting is dry it boots up fine and everything but about half the keyboard is dead and some keys a stuck. Pull up notepad and get a screen full of BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB and other eratic behavior. Any home brew suggestions? Someone suggested holding it over a boiling pot of water so the steam will loosen things so to speak. Or should I just call up HP and pay the price????????

Thanks for any suggestions or advise.

I've heard the steam thing before, but I've never known anyone who tried it. A co-worker of mine once spilled a can of coke into a pc (on the motherboard) to see if he could save it by washing it (weird dude, I know). Anyways, after letting it sit a couple of hours, he removed and rinsed the mobo and a couple of cards in water and let dry for a few days and everything worked again. I don't know if I'd recommend it, but stranger things have happened, I suppose...

Anyways, replace your keyboard and see if the new one works. If it doesn't, there's probably some permanent damage to parts of the mobo. Another thing to think about: maybe your car insurance will cover it. It may be a long shot, but ask anyway.

I would advise opened it up as using a little bit of denatured alcohol..
