I heard a rumor that another model is coming out, but I can't find anything since January on the matter. Anyone have anything more recent with ideas on what's going to be released?

I believe the 80GB PS3 version that comes w/ metal gear solid 4 is coming out on June 12th. This will also come w/ a dual shock 3 controller and is suppose to retail for $499.

meh, that's boring. I heard there were some hardware changes, but nothing to substantiate that.

I think there is supposed to be a "limited edition" PS3 that will be released with MGS4 on June 12. It is 40GB and is colored "gun metal." I think it's $599 so you pay a premium for the novelty factor. Performance-wise, I don't think it is different.

Meh, I have a PS3 sitting in its original box for about 2 weeks. Haven't been motivated enough to pop it open and hook it up. Haha.
Speaking which...are they any "worthwhile" games worth picking up for this unit?

Burnout Paradise and CoD4 seem to be getting a lot of play here. Haven't bought a lot of games yet. Played a lot of movies though.

Lol, thats the main reason i got it. Blue Ray disc player. Haahaa. I guess it'll stay that way for the moment. :P

Ratchet and Clank is buggy, but pretty fun. I got tired of it after 3 playthroughs. Time Crisis looks like it could be a lot of fun, but it won't work right on TVs larger than 50". :(
