As mentioned in my birthday thread, I ended up getting a brand new Nikon D80 SLR camera a few weeks ago. Below are a few random shots I've taken so far. Sadly I don't have my photo editor on my computer, so these shots are pretty much straight out of the camera.
I am still learning the ropes of course, but so far I'm quite pleased with the output from this digital camera.

(I really like the colors on this shot -- though I need to learn more about setting the correct aperture to achieve better depth-of-field)

(Reminds me of Google Earth)

(My first attempt at close-up photography -- sadly I don't have a macro lens)

Whoa, all good, but that second shot rocks. :thumb:
Wicked view.

Here's a better version of that one (minus a spot I have to clone out)

CN Tower? Last time I was there, I was twelve or so? Nearly peed my pants on that floor.

CN Tower is in Toronto - if that's Calgary, it's the Calgary Tower (go Flames!)

Yup, it's the Calgary Tower. They added a small section of glass floor a couple of years ago, but this was the first time I've been up since.
Definitely unnerving the first time you step out onto it.

Scary view on #2. The Nikon, like many digital SLRS is slightly soft in its in-camera processing. That is so that you can add your own sharpening later. Aside from it being bigger than your A200, it does have more options for you.
Now you list of "I want" for it will grow! My latest is a cable to use my external flash (SB 600) off camera without using the commander mode where you use the built in flash to trigger the external flash off camera. The cable means I can use it off camera without having the built in one going off too.

No, but you can view more pics in my PhotoBucket (http://s299.photobucket.com/albums/mm302/Devhux/) album.
(When I start taking a bunch more though, I just might have to join Flickr) :)

I'd recommend it. It's a great way to network with other photographers in your area. I've gone to several successful meet ups with people in L.A. and I've learned a lot.
