I'm looking for a high-capacity MP3 player, and so far I'm leaning towards the Zune 80 (now that it's finally available here in Canada).

I really, really don't want an iPod (didn't care for the sound quality in the first-gen Nano I had - plus I hate the click wheel).

There is the Archos 605, but I've heard reports that their quality-control isn't the greatest. Furthermore, I don't plan to watch a lot of movies on the go (that's what my EeePC is for), so the huge 4" display on that one would be fairly pointless.

That pretty much leaves me with the Zune 80. I like the fact that it offers wireless sync, and I've heard that the sound quality is fairly good. Of course, I also realize it relies on the Zune software for file transfers, but I can live with that.

Does anyone else here have a Zune, or have experience with one?

can you really live with the zune software? Cause it's horrid.

Frankly, I didn't notice any difference in sound quality between ipod and zune. Zunes are decent enough...I would be hard pressed to say which is better, a Zune or a Creative Labs unit. I find the Zune software to be such a PITA, but the hardware itself is solid.

Hating the click wheel just ain't right. But if you are non ipodsexual, I guess I'd go with the zune.

I did end up grabbing a red Zune.

I see what you mean about the Zune software LPMiller -- it definitely isn't my favorite utility. Of course, when browsing some forums, I actually found a program that will let me sync the Zune using MediaMonkey (my MP3 organizing tool of choice). Now, the only time I need the software is if I want to purchase music (PLEASE bring the Zune Pass to Canada!)

bah, just buy off of amazon. I no longer buy DRM music. At least not since Apple went after QT4fairuse.
