Yep, I got mine. Didn't have one before. It's pretty dang awesome. I'm loving it so far. A little buggy though, that kinda sucks.

Anyone else get one?

(Yes, yes, iSheep, Apple fanboy, whatever :) )

Why would I waste my $$$ on a phone that can't even provide basic functions such as BT file transfer, speed dial, and copy&paste?

Anyway enjoy your phone.

My friend conveniently lost his first-gen iphone yesterday morning in a cab. Five hours later he walked over to an apple store and was talking an a new iphone 3G. I had a chance to play around with it for a couple minutes and it is a beautiful piece of machinerey. Personally, I think the iphone is great, but it has never been a viable option for me because the low storage capacity wouldn't allow it to completely replace my ipod. Also verizon has much better reception in NYC. If it weren't for those few personal issues, I think the iphone is the most attractive option out there right now for people like me who have high consideration for good product design and who want to have portable internet, but aren't business people with a high demand for hardcore "command center" needs.

I can't wait to see what will be available for Verizon customers in the future when the Android OS is released. Hopefully there will be many options as attractive as the iphone.

Low storage space? I just picked up the 3G for my nephew and it has 16 gigs and I thought that was considered plenty. Just how much space does one need for music these days?

For anyone concerned about space, check out the app from simplify media. You can stream your iTunes collection to your iPhone. It actually works quite well

I just ordered mine yesterday, replacing my Palm Centro and Sprint. Like Bachviet said I know there are going to be some annoyances, but I've been using the iPod touch with my MobileMe account for a couple of months now and it's great. I think the benefits will outweigh the annoyances. Plus, my work is paying for it so why do I care ;)

I was reading an article about that yesterday, and apparently the Android will be missing a lot of key features, such as bluetooth. I'm still trying to find the link. I think it was on guru3d.com

Man that sucks. Whatever happens, as long as I'm living in this damned city of pre-war heavy masonry walls, i'm gonna have to stick to Verizon.

BTW, how is everybody doing with their iphones? I read this article yesterday.

Apple hit with class-action lawsuit over iPhone 3G flakiness

By Jacqui Cheng | Published: August 20, 2008 - 03:32PM CT

We all knew it was coming, it was just a matter of time. A lawsuit has been filed against Apple over what the plaintiff is referring to as the "Defective iPhone 3G," which she hopes will become a class-action complaint. Alabama resident Jessica Alena Smith filed the complaint yesterday against the iPhone maker, alleging that the new iPhone's 3G performance and reliability has been subpar, despite the claims made by Apple's aggressive marketing campaign. Considering that a true fix has yet to be issued for users' 3G problems, this could just be the tip of the iPhone lawsuit iceberg.

Honestly? I think it's a lot of whiners. I think the coverage just isn't that good for 3G. As far as speed, I'm quite happy.

If there's anything I've found, it's that it will always choose a 3G signal over edge. So if you can get 1 bar 3G signal or 5 bars edge, then it'll choose the 3G. Not always quite what you want.

I have a couple friends who switched over from the 1st gen iPhone and all say the reception has gotten noticably worse.

actually one of the friends switched to the 3G first and the guy who still had a first-gen model always made fun of the 3G guy as they compared how many bars they got. the last laugh was with the 3G guy, however, as a few days later, the first-gen guy broke his screen and had no choice but to switch over. whatever the case, i still think the iphone is a quite attractive piece of technology overall. as i said befpre, the only reason i'm not getting one is because I want to stick with verizon for now.

I just got a new 3G iPhone for work yesterday. So far it is glorious. There are a few things I would change, but it is WAY better than any phone I've had before. I'm headed to London for the next two weeks, so we'll see how it does over there.

My whole team is getting them. Right now we've all got the "Old Phone" ringtone, and we can't tell who's phone is ringing. I want another ringtone that actually sounds like, you know, a PHONE! I can't use a song (and wouldn't want to anyway). Does anyone have suggestions? I can't even find anything on itunes that isn't a song. I'm willing to pay a couple dollars if I have to. Why is it so hard to find ringtones for grownups?

I nabbed mine last week. It works great thus far. Battery life blows. Definitely not an iPod replacement. I drain about 3/4 of my battery in a day, ridiculous. I still think the phone is great and there are a lot of free apps that are very useful.

ok this is quasi-golden shovel material, but a couple friends got together and bought me a new iphone tonight. for my birthday. I've always craved an iphone, but was waiting for a suitable alternative with the Android OS. oh well, might as well give it a try now.

If the iphone came to verizon it would use that same crappy interface on most of their phones, disable wifi and a bunch of other features then only allow music purchased from them....

I hate Verizon...
