Is it worth upgrading from the last version (2002?) ?

I personally love the new interface. Lots of people I know hate it though.

Honestly... NOPE!
But you have to ask yourself... what do you use Office for? Typing memos and letters, doing spreadsheets, maybe a few graphic slides here and there.
If you already own MS Office 2003 or MS Office XP (Is there a 2002 version... I've never seen that one.) then you should be good to go for the most part. The improvements in the newest versions just don't justify the expense of buying them IMHO.

It's not like windows where it's a completely different beast and your whole computer goes faster.
The newer office versions just have a couple more tricks, they've moved around buttons and bars so you have to re-learn where everything is at. Unless office is causing you problems or you know of an improvement that you really must have in the newer versions, it is probably not worth it.
I have office 2k at work and it does just fine. My co-workers have 2k7 I think and the only issue we really have is their documents save to .docx and my computer doesn't understand that fancyness. But they resave them as .doc and it's all good.
I find some of their menu's confusing. But that's cause I don't use their version. So I'd stick with what you got unless it's broke.

Functionality is improved, but not so much that you HAVE to do it. And the others are right to say that re-learning where things are might take a while.
For me, I like that file sizes are smaller and that the interface is much more intuitive once you get used to it. Otherwise? No big deal, really.
i have not upgraded. i cannot stand the new interface.
