About once a week, never any room for new leftovers.

I wanted to get to it today but it didn't happen. Lemme take a quick peek and inventory the nastyness...
I know there's some ~6-month old bacon in there, a container of beef broth probably older than that, some moldy black berries I picked but didn't do anything with, half-empty containers of sour cream and pasta sauce that're undoubtedly bad, a tub of sourdough bread starter that I haven't tended to in months. Also some waffle batter from mid-last week that's probably gone bad but I'll probably try it anyway.

I just cleaned it out last week. it was major nastiness. some old ricotta cheese and some old yogurt. *shudder*
i think it must've been close to 6 months since i last cleaned it.
I clean mine out every 2 months or so. I use ARM & HAMMERŪ Baking Soda Fridge-n-Freezer™ Odor Absorber (16 oz.) and swap those out every month or so. It definitely helps with the odors, but I rarely leave anything older than a couple weeks in my fridge anyway.

When you say clean your fridge, you talking about taking everything out and cleaning it?
Or just thoroughly going through it to throw out the nasties?

When it smells like urine and ammonia, we know it's time.

Hmmm....that's an interesting concept. Cleaning my fridge. I should have thought of that long ago.

You might want to talk to a plumber about getting a toilet installed in your house. Just to let you know, those drawers in the fridge are for vegetables and fruits, not to defecate in.

Do you mean getting rid of the stuff that will either cure diseases or kill you hiding in the back? Or like scrubbing the shelves too?
