Currently, there are a few stations in my area offering gasoline at $3.51 and some in NJ at $3.39.

Think that they will drop even further or stabilize at the current price?

Here in MN - $3.59 for regular and $2.89 for E85.

I sure hope this isn't the new paradigm for gas prices. I clearly remember around 1980 how we thought $1.25 gas was an aberration and we'd eventually return to 50-60 cents.

$3.80ish here in michigan. will probably head back up as we approach labor day.

imho, fuel will stay at this level unless demand continues to drop. i think if demand continues to drop (a warm winter would help), institutional buyers will start to bail and you'll see prices really tank. also, if the $ maintains or improves its position, that will help keep fuel prices going in the right direction.
