Calendar?

Is there a free program which can alert me on the day that I have an appointment, obviously after I have entered the info into it?

google calendar is the foundation on which my whole world revolves. i don't know how i'd live without it. it's not a part of toolbar. it's an online app (just like gmail, etc) and the best thing is that it can be accessed from anywhere anytime as long as you have an internet connection. you can even set it up so that it sends email or text message alerts for events.

and i always have gmail open so it makes sense to use it.

Thanks...will a popup warn me of an upcoming appointment? Must it be configured somehow to do that?

I think you can configure it to do that or to not do it. I haven't played with sunbird in a while. All of my calendar needs are met by Google calendar and my CrackBerry.

Windows 98? Why? Xubuntu would be a way better choice, though you probably don't want to learn how to use a new OS.

I had too many problems with XP and viruses, even though I used a very good anti-virus program. I use 98 and AVG software. It's been nearly a year and I have had no virus problems. Slow processor helps? I don't know? But I also have DSL. Weird.

If you have a copy of Microsoft Office, then Outlook (the full version, not Outlook Express) will do it.

and yeah, win 98? really? I find it hard to believe that win98 with AVG is any better than winxp with AVG.

I'd just say screw windows if you're not running anything windows specific and go with a lightweight linux distro.

I have had two appointments this week and neither time did Calendar warn me of them. I thought that I had it configured properly.

That's why I schedule appointments into my cell phone calendar. It's amazing - I've found that it can even remind me of an appointment when my computer is not even running! ;)
