Well, I just picked up Rock Band 2 for the XBox 360 (only console it's available for at the moment), and so far I'm quite impressed with it. Excellent song list (all master recordings), and quite a few nifty features.
One of the nice things is that you can finally play multi-player online (whether you have a full-band or not).
Anyone else pick up the game yet? If so, feel free to add me to your XBox friends list (Devhux is my gamertag).

Waiting for the bundled version since I don't have RB1 or GH for the 360. Kinda silly that the game and instrument bundle doesn't come out for another month.
I'm thinking about buying the game, the drum set, and then a GH wireless guitar since I didn't like RB1's strat.

Assuming you don't want two sets of instruments, you could get RB1 and then just buy they game for RB2 later. That's probably your cheapest option.
Or you could wait and get RB2 bundle, since the instruments are supposed to be a little quieter, I guess, and then find a deal on a RB1 game.
I already have RB1 bundle, and will buy RB2 game. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to get one of these (https://www.drumrocker.com/products/index.php).

Another option would be to wait and purchase the RB2 bundle, then go rent the RB1 disc and export all the songs to your PS3 hard drive (for a $5 re-licensing fee). All but 3 songs are available to export into the new game.
That's the route I'd go if you decide you want all new instruments. Otherwise, I'd do what MrGreg suggested.... $75 for the whole RB1 package is a sweet deal.

:stupid:
Yes. Do this. The only one of the 3 songs you can't export worth playing is Enter Sandman.

The exporting songs from RB1 is such a clutch feature.
