So i have 2 windows that let WAY too much sunlight in. The main issues is that they are high up. So blinds are not reasonable, plus they'll make it really ugly.

Is there anything that lasts outdoor with the same blind concept? I looked a bit online and all I can find are bamboo stuff but it doesn't look like it would last.

Or is there something cool and affordable for indoors?

This is my ghetto mock up of one of the windows, the other one is basically on the other side facing each other (kinda like looking in the mirror). http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b395/tupacboy/window.jpg

forgot to mention that the window has been tinted already, with a light white, but still, no good

Is your problem the amount of light coming in, or the amount of heat?

If it's heat, look at getting a low-e UV coating put on. That'll block a lot of the heat coming in. Since the window is already tinted that might have to be removed 1st.

If it's light, then you should look more closely at options for blinds - they have some that are almost invisible when they're open (just a small bar at the top or bottom of the window), and they can be opened & closed remotely. Although with the odd size of your windows, they could be REALLY expensive.

New windows.

Try not to let the contractor **** them up again.

maybe you could use a different tint? light white doesn't seem to be very suitable for controlling sunlight.

It's not the cheapest solution, but Llumar architectural film is magic for stuff like this.

I would think you could make curtains/drapes with about that side. pin them down on the top. put a hook at about chest level on one side, so that you can open it up if you desire.

I kinda really want to know the architecture of your house that has windows shaped like that.
