A sad day indeed. A great actor. I loved him best in The Color of Money. One of my all time favorite movies. When he finds out Cruise was hustling him - THAT'S ACTING!

The thing that is awesome about the guy, if you read the link, is that all the profits made from his food line went to charity. 220 million dollars. That's way cool.

If you haven't seen it (it seems to be on TV fairly often), you really should see "Cool Hand Luke". About a guy always fighting against what everybody seems to think he should do. There was no wager he would turn down- even trying to eat 50 hard boiled eggs just because somebody said it couldn't be done. He is running from something- and doesn't seems sure himself what he is running from- or towards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDAievLKomA&feature=related
Then there is Newman's race car side and his humanitarian side- the pasta sauce, salad dressing, and popcorn sold to help charities. Didn't hurt that he was good looking- but he was always the gentleman. Had a beautiful wife too- Joanne Woodward. They were both very classy. One more look at Luke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJwSIbCR7Yw

Ooooh yeah, I've always wanted to rent that. My uncle told me to a while ago.

Any Hollywood wedding that lasts 50 years deserves a big tip of the hat. RIP.
