I loan my sister inlaw $1500 & $350 .00 advance on parts needed to work on her home (all loaned to her in May/JUNE 2008).plus $$$$ in labor fees .from June till now i have only got a return of $250.00 cash. you think i should apply for part of $417 million dollar bail out if approved as my sister inlaw thinks im a BANK ?
(she works full time For GM at a plant .)

Think of it as a life lesson - money given to family is not a loan, it's a gift. If they pay you back, then it's a pleasant surprise, and if they don't, well, then you don't have to start a mini-war among family members, since you already mentally wrote off the money anyway.

Family members estranged due to monetary issues is a cross-cultural and age-old phenomenon. As avlena suggested, if you care at all about family relations, just consider your money gone. Prevent that from happening again in the future by NOT lending family members money. You may seem like a cheap-ass at first, but it will save your family in the long run.

You're tripping out over $1,600?

My guess is this is another renovation's typographical errors. He meant to type "I loan my sister inlaw $1500m & $350m" as in MILLIONS. That damn "m" key killed him. :hihi:
