Internet Explorer

ok - so 2 days ago my auto updates for windows downloaded some updates and installed them. ever since then my internet explorer stopped functioning.

i type in a website and it thinks its downloaded the website but the display show nothing. I tried upgrading to 8.0 and now it opens up then just closes instantly.

no idea how to resolve so I downloaded googles viewer and firefox. both are working fine, but i am still scratching my head over ie no longer functioning?

any ideas?

if your using xp go into control panel and add or remove programs .then remove internet explorer. then go back to the microsoft download site and reload explorer 7. is my best guess !
