Generic Host Process for Win32 Serivces is trying to act as a server. Identifcation: None
Application: svchost.exe
Source: 0.0.0.0:Port 135
Since my last Zone Alarm update I've been getting a pop up for this service asking for permission. I wasn't getting this one previous to the update and am curious if there is a way to check what it is in relation to? The Zone Alarm explanation doesn't give a definitive answer so any thought appreciated. So far denying it doesn't seem to cause any problems, but would like to figure out what it is doing if possible.
Thanks

You might read through the whole thread.

I find this to be yet another example of a third-party software firewall playing "Chicken Little". The useful information to noise ratio of ZA is too high.

Thanks, not sure how I missed this forum in my search.

We use ZA as a standard corp firewall, and I've found that in general it sucks eggs.

I'd recommend that you uninstall it & run with just the XP SP2 firewall.
