Well, I've read how good Amazon.com's Customer Service phone Reps are, but never really believed it until today.
I was a little late on getting in on the MCI/Amazon deal, but managed to sneak it in there and my $150 coupon was waiting for when I got back after my christmas hols.
On Sunday, I ordered up a Sony G400 19" monitor to replace my old and blurry 15-incher that was on its way out. Given I was a little late, I missed the free shipping - I had to bite the bullet and pay $30-odd for it, but I wasn't too displeased, given hat I'm getting a Sony G400 for the price of a Samsung 900NF. :) I can't wait!
Anyway the last few days, I've watched it from my account, and it's been shipping soon for the whole time. The expected delivery date just keeps slipping and slipping...not fun, especially as my 15-incher has now died in the meantime (it must've knew it was going to be replaced!). The best part is that they charged my credit card already!
in the meantime, I fired off a couple of emails, and got no reply, so I dug out their phone number from a search here.
I was expecting to have to rant and rave to them on the phone how it was a load of crap that I'm paying for S&H and they're not living up to their promise. Instead, the lady I talked to was in agreement that it was unacceptable - she's going to give te warehouse a kick, and in the meantime she's going to refund my shipping charge and bump it up to 2nd day air free of charge, so that it arrives when they originally said it would.
And *she* suggested that - I hadn't even begun to prompt her that I was looking for a shipping refund. :D
As long as this thing actually moves, I'm very impressed. Their phone number is one of their best-kept secrets, and no bloody wonder....it just cost them $30-odd in a refund PLUS $60 for expedited shipping!
So remember, boys and girls, if you have a problem with an order, don't bother with email. Their number is 1-800-201-7575. :)
