If anyone out there is into the Lego Mindstorms Robotics Invention System (the one that lets you design, build and program your own robots,) then run, don't walk, over to your local BestBuy for a really hot deal! I was just in BestBuy this afternoon and noticed that one of the expansion sets, Robo Sports, had a shelf placard for $9.99, even though the box was stickered at the regular $49.99 price. Figuring that the placard was wrong, but that I might be able to haggle the manager into honoring it, I took it up to the checkout. Surprise; the placard was wrong - it didn't ring up at $9.99, but at $4.99! Smelling a real kill, I rushed back and picked up one of every Lego Robotics expansion set they had and made the checkout clerk scan 'em all. The Extreme Creatures set also rang up at $4.99! All the other expansion sets were normally priced (in the $50 to $100 range) so I nabbed one of each of the $4.99 sets. Even if you already have those sets, just the extra pieces are worth more than $5!

Sorry, forgot to include this:
These aren't available online (I checked.) I found 'em at a bricks & mortar store. Milage may vary.

As soon as I saw this post I dashed out to my local best buy and checked every lego mindstorm they had. They were scanning at full price, mostly $49.99 and $99.99. Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep my eye on them!

Here's a great deal for the Vision Command at etoys. I just saw this for $99.99 at BestBuy, etoys price: $23.99

CDX74 - Maybe you're right, maybe it was just luck. I don't know if it was just the local store or what. I would have thought that Best Buy's registers/scanners would be linked to a national price database ala Staples or OD, etc., but apparently not. If anybody who sees this works/worked for Best Buy and can enlighten us to how they maintain their pricing (store-by-store? regionally?) it might be helpful in the future too. Sorry if this doesn't play out in the other locations (I'm in Snellville, Georgia, right beside Atlanta) but I so happy with the find that as soon as I got home I wanted to share the wealth. I figured Best Buy was just trimming stock that they'd built up fotr the holidays (the two that were reduced were the first two expansion sets so they were the oldest stock.)
the_dude8 - On the off chance that SOME other BBs have this, as I posted originally, the only two that were $4.99 were Robo Sports and Extreme Creatures (SKUs 3669028 9730 and 3665037 9732 on my receipt.) All others were regular price.
