I finally gave up on AVG when it started having problems updating the virus db automatically. I'm using Avast now. We'll see how that works. heh

I have 8.0.175. all of last week, it wouldn't update new virus definitions. it finally worked this morning.

during the whole time though, it seemed like it was actually working though.

well im going to ditch AVG to buggy and can't take the chance of it messing up my rig more .

the messages im getting now are .
avgwdsve.exe application error 0x01611030 reference memory0x08ca4f1c memory could not read .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
azappname:avgwdsve.exe szmidname AVG corex.dll sz mod 8.0.0.153
tryed a fix supply to me for AVG and that did not help so i just switched to Avast . computer stop acting up after i removed AVG. but had to do a complete shut down and then cold start up to fix problem .would reboot in the middle of a startup when tryed using reboot in windows startup after removing AVG though control panel add and remove software :(
