The New XBox Live Experience

Downloaded the new XBox experience and am fiddling around. I am impressed with how smooth it is, and how easy it is to navigate.

I'm also streaming video with the new Netflix application and my video is coming in nice and clear, even on my ****ty Verizon DSL connection. As I add videos to my queue on Netflix, it's appearing on my XBox live screen in a matter of seconds. Fantastic!

Update: Okay, some of my videos are coming in really crappy quality, and some are coming in crisper. I think this has to do with the line connection test that xbox performs before starting a video...and unfortunately there's no way for me to override the automatic settings.

I agree, so far I like it. The only bad part is having to look at ray's lame Mii :)

I'm going to need a bigger hard drive. Installed COD4 and it seems to take up around 6.7 GB.

It wasn't actually that large. Pretty quick overall.

I think it comes out for everyone tomorrow. ray and I were in a beta and they let us download it a day early.

I'm on a cable connection, and I think my total time to get it and install it was 5-10 minutes.

5-10 minutes sounds about right. You'll be notified that there's an update needing to be installed. It will download the file, then the console will reboot to install NXE.

I've had it since Friday, and overall I like it. I've installed a few games to the HDD, and it's made me glad I purchased an Elite (120GB HDD). Do note that you'll still need to put the game in the drive for verification purposes, but loading times generally are better, and you won't have to put up with the loud DVD drive spinning all the time.
