Need to record monitor output

Wasn't sure what forum to post this in. My son is on a professional Grand Prix 3 team. I need to be able to record races for play back and analysis. His video card has a S-video output, but you have to chose between that and the SVGA output so I can't use that. There is a recording utilities specific to the game but it modifies the game .exe making it illegal for competition, plus it tends to be less stable. I need a way to record the monitor output either internally via software or externally via I-have-no-idea. Any help would be appreciated. TIA. FWIW: its a K7V @750 w/Asus V6800.

consider using a TV? it may be a bit far fetched but you could try this, its not an expensive solution.

you can get an S-Video to Composite adaptor at any radio shack ($5), and i'm guessing you should be able to get a Composite Video splitter, although i've never seen one at a store, i don't see any reason that wouldn't exist. Hook one end of the composite out into the TV so he can watch as he's playing, and one end into a VCR.
OR, some TV's have their own built-in Composite out, so you could do without the splitter. Hook the Computer into the TV, then from the TV's composite out, straight to the VCR. Good luck.
BTW, Composite video is the same as RCA cables, the Red-and-Yellow audio and video cables you must have hanging around.
