Ok, so this might seem a little strange to some of you, but I read the Twilight series last week, and thought it was pretty good. Now while there are parts that I thought could have been better, overall I'm glad that I read it, and would read it again.
The movie could have been a little better, but it wasn't horrible in my opinion. A lot of the dialog that goes on in the book in people's heads is really hard to translate to the big screen, so I expected some parts that didn't seem quite right.
Now I've also read a lot of people that feel they must tear apart the book on the internet (what's new) which they are free to do, the only parts I find somewhat interesting are when they start talking about how Stephenie Meyer is pushing her Mormon beliefs on people and it's not right. Well first off, it's her book. She has every right to write it however she chooses. Second off, it's not really that blatant, and if you go over any book with a fine toothed comb you will find whatever you want to find.
I found it to be more like C.S. Lewis where it's there but it didn't really detract. I believe the fact that she clearly states her beliefs publicly, and went to Brigham Young make people look for more then there really is.
So overall, I thought they turned out pretty well, even though I'm not the targeted Teen Demographic, I just read waaaay too much.
