i need to find directions for swapping out a keyboard on a gateway 3040gz laptop .if you know a site can you post a link please. i want to make sure i just remove the right screws only.

i order a replacement keyboard .the daughter drop a book on the old one and broke off two keys .the problem is i be in florida from the 10th-17th and will be doing the replacement there. i bought this unit new and can't fine the info i need online to remove and install the new keyboard .

Dear Michael Greenberg,

The steps for replacing the keyboard is not available. I suggest that you bring the computer to any third party repair shop to be able to replace the keyboard of the computer.

Aren't most places like that? They don't want you breaking more things and so the manuals are not available? I remember when I worked at a computer company we had every laptop manual online from all the manufacturers but it wasn't readily available to the public. you had to know techs or someone who had accumulated the holy grail.

no you can go online and get a the info for very dell made .not so on a gateway!
