The OU Sooners will play in the Big-12 Championship game. The latest BCS Rankings were released and OU is number 2.

Not sure how I feel about outsiders (BCS) telling a conference who their divisional champion is. But that said, even though Texas did beat Oklahoma in head to head, OU is probably the better team right now. I would still love to see them (OU) play Florida. I think either of them could beat Alabama. Looks like Florida gets a chance to show that in the SEC title game.

Yeah. Well.. I'm not sure how I feel either, but since that rule was in place, and has been in place, no one can really complain.

We also realized saturday night that our backup Linebacker probably wasnt the best choice, the backups backup came out and did really well for the final few series. Hopefully it wasn't just a fluke, cause I think he will be in for the rest of the season, which would be awesome if he can shore up our D.

Also I was looking at some of the BCS numbers and while it would still require some weird numbers.. OU and Texas could play each other for the National Champ game.

If Florida beats Alabama, and the votes don't shift as much as they need them to, then it would be OU #1, Tx #2, Fl #3 at the end.

Is that what the maroon stands for?

There sure is a lot of it here...

haha.. Yeah.. And interlaced O-U All over the place :) You can't go anywhere outside of Aggie country (OkState) and NOT see OU stuff.

I don't agree with the rule and think it's a silly way to determine a conference champ. In all of the other major conferences, Texas would have been the champ.

With all that said, it is the rule so it isn't any knock on OU. However, it would be very interesting to see the human votes over the past two weeks revealed to see how much changed with the vested interests at stake.

Based on what I've heard the rule will be changed after this year.

It's a Big12 rule to determine the champion (3-way tie & using the highest BCS ranking as the tie-breaker) not a BCS rule.

Yeah it most likely will. And next year, OU will beat Texas, lose to Texas Tech, end up in a three way tie, and beat out Texas and Tech for the Championship, just because that's how things go.

But yeah, OU didn't do anything wrong (if you look at the Horn Fan websites they did) But they had nothing to do with the outcome or the votes. Bob Stoops gave up his Coaches Voting chance. Mack Brown (Tx Coach) had his coaches up late sat, early sunday sending out Emails to try and sway the vote which I don't agree with, I also don't agree that he agreed to call during the game (OU-OSU) and do an interview nor do I agree with their silly Banner. But whatever

On a side note Bob Stoops was also asked to call in during the Texas-A&M game and refused.

Now if you really want to confuse things, then let Missouri beat OU (like that is going to happen-especially the problems they had with Kansas!) in the Big 12 conference championship game. Then you could have a team who did not even win their own division or conference in line for a shot at the national title game (Texas).

I sympathize with Texas who had the exact same record as OU but beat OU in a face to face matchup. I do understand that it is the Big12 who decided to use the BCS rankings as a tie breaker but think they should have used head to head competition as a criteria before going to the BCS points- perhaps even the first tiebreaker. Most other places do that. If you lost to them, how can you claim to be better than they are?

You can't use head-to-head as the first tie breaker since it's a 3-way tie (UT beat OU, TT beat UT, and OU beat TT). If Texas is to be going to the Big12 Championship game, TT will have something to say since it beat Texas.

LOL

I knew that really. It's hard not to know it when it's in your face. :)

It sucks being in a state so full of football fans when you don't follow football at any level. It would be fun to join in if you knew what was happening.

I think we have the only vehicles in the state that do not have some type of college football logo - rightside or upside down.

Go Blazers! :)

Haha.. No. Mine doesn't have anything on it.. Just Navy Stuff :)

I don't know WHY though, just never put anything on there. When I transfer to OU next fall, I'm sure that will change. Although I refuse to put Upside down Longhorns on my car as you still have to buy a Longhorn sticker which supports their school! :)
