View Full Version : Where is my fingerprint reader in my Dell XPS M1530?
I've tried searching for it, going through the manual, and nothing...
Does anyone know where I can find the program to initialize the fingerprint reader?
I know when I first got the laptop a week or so ago, I updated/installed a UPEK driver for the reader...
Thanks for any help! :)

I think it's built somewhere into the screen. Coat your fingers with Vaseline then try pressing every 1/2 inch or so everywhere on your screen.
j/k, of course. I really don't have any idea.

Anyway, I found a site that gives all the drivers and utilities for my laptop. Installed the utility, but I'm backing up my laptop on my homeserver, so I can't test it out quite yet...
Man, Dell does not make it easy!

Go to http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1530?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~tab=bundlestab and click on the 5th "subpicture" and it will point it out.

I have the same laptop you have. I bought it in February or March. I think the fingerprint reader is more annoying that anything else and I have cold hands so it doesn't register half the time.
