What he called a crab dribble (here) (http://www.faniq.com/video/Lebron-James-Crab-Dribble-Is-Called-For-Traveling-Causes-The-Cavaliers-To-Lose-8077-To-The-Wizards-YouTube-11995) .... first, a crab dribble is not that... and second, he did travel.

What he thought he was doing was taking a hop, then jumping off of both feet (which is legal)... but he took the hop, then took two more steps instead of planting off of both and going up (as he seems to describe to the ref later in the above linked quote). But he didn't do what he thought he did.

A crab step is probably what he means... that's when you're holding the ball (usually with your back to the basket and your feet quite far apart), bounce it once with both hands very low while you move toward the basket, then go up.

Dave.

I can't believe anyone in the NBA can complain about being called for traveling. Perhaps because everyone else has not been called, they are angry, but if they watch a tape of themselves, i'm pretty sure every player in the NBA has traveled with the exception of Mark Madsen.

:stupid: agreed.

The NBA, where whistle swallowing happens.

The NBA, where star treatment happens.
