I gave my sister a 10 year old version of Photoshop to put on her computer running XP. For some reason, when she presses the install icon, there is activity but then nothing happens.
She had Photoshop LE but couldn't access it. I asked her to remove it and she did. I also told her to go into the registry and remove everything related to Photoshop. Well, she decided not to proceed after seeing so many references to it.
I went online and checked this problem . Two sites said that an antivirus program can prevent someone from installing a program. Sound reasonable?
Oh, it installed correctly with my computer which has XP Pro and no antivirus software.
UPDATE: It was the antivirus program which prevented it from installing
