I've had a cheap Hauppauge TV card in my computer for quite a while (has a line from my cable TV feed). It's handy when I want to keep up with something while I'm on the computer, or when there's something on the TV that someone else wants to watch (and I can watch what I want to on the computer). I had been using the Hauppauge software (WinTV), but last night I came across a free application called Dscaler (http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/) which seems to give me a much clearer picture. I'll be playing around with it more, but so far I really like it.
