Pittsburgh has some intangibles- they seem to be able to do things people do not expect them to. Troy Palomalou is an amazing player- he just flies all over the palce! I have not seen the Cardinals play but from what I have heard, they could be a big problem for Pittsburgh. Steelers have the defense, but is their offense good enough to score enough points against the Cards?

I would say that if they could score points against the Baltimore "D" (2nd rated to the Steelers' "D") then the answer is "yes". They can score against the Cards' "D" (the #19 D in the NFL). The real question is 'can the Steelers' "D" limit the Cardinals' "O" to enough points to allow the Steelers' "O" to score more points against the Cardinals' "D"?'. I say "Yes".

It is going to be a tough matchup. Awesome "D" v awesome "O" and mediocre "O" v mediocre "D". I think one of the things that does not show up in the stats is the Parker factor. Fast Willie has been injured for most of the season and now he is healthy again. This is huge for the Steelers. I think the Steelers are going to have their hands full with the Cards' WRs and QB.

A good example of how this might pan out would be the 2000 AFC championship game when the Raiders, who had one of the top offenses, went against the Ravens, who had the #1 defense. It was a slugfest most of the game, with the Raiders not able to get anything really going except for a fieldgoal and the Raven's offense scoring four fieldgoals and a touchdown. The Ravens had a mediocre offense at best with Trent Dilfer as their QB. The Raider's defense was decent, but their offense was more of the focus. Offense wins games, but Defense wins Championships.

With that, my money is literally on the Steelers (drove up to Tahoe today and put $50 on the them to win - the current line is +7).

Should have gone parlay 2 with Steelers + under (47 at this point).

Yet another SuperBowl where I'll pay more attention to the commercials rather than the game. :D

I don't get WDVE in the DC area and streaming a/v is a no, no at work. :) Besides, if it is a pro Steelers song then I like it! That's what happens when you grow up around the burgh. I have been a Steelers fan since I was born.

:stupid:

I went to the Steelers vs 'skins game and it was like a Steelers' home game in DC. The Steeler Nation travels really well!

I have more respect for Steeler fans than Cowboy fans. Mostly because the majority of 'boy fans came about during the Aikman-era, which to me means, they are almost like bandwagon fans.

The (albeit) few Steeler fans I know have been fans for much longer.

/49ers fan

:puke:

Talk about someone in need of therapy and a long regimen of large doses of antibiotics or antiviral meds. ;) Why would anyone in their right mind want to be a Cowgurls fan? I just don't understand it. It has to be some type of viral or bacterial infection that affects decision making. ;) :P :D

This makes you... the second. The first being The Girl's mother (who was a fan in the '60's if I remember correctly)

Yes, I'm being serious.

( Although I do live in California, so it's not exactly a hot bed of non-Raider/non-Charger fans :P )
