CD Rom troubles

OK, my CD-Rom won't spin up when I put in a disc anymore. One minute it was working then all of the sudden it just won't spin. Power is on, the IDE cable is on right, so is the audio cable, but it just won't work. Anyone have a clue, or should I just get a new drive?

First off, try the disc in another drive. Is it a CDR/CDRW?

At any rate, unless you have one of those more expensive models, you could just pick up one of those Delta(?) CDROM drives from Staples.

I'd borrow one that works from a friend. It could be a bad controller, bad power cord, or something else. No use in buying a new CD if that's not gonna help
