Anyone here into running? Any goals for this year?

I ran my first 1/2 last year in 2:11, which wasn't that great. I caught a cold a few weeks before the race and wasn't able to train as well as I wanted to. Hoping to beat 2:00. This year I have 2 1/2 scheduled (April and May) and I'm planning to do a marathon. Thinking about doing the Chicago Marathon just because it sounds fun.

I *kind of* run. I'm pretty lazy. I'm more of a sprinter. Until I run my first 1/2, I can't criticize yours :) I've never done more than nine miles. My goal for the summer (year?) is a 3 mile in under 18 minutes. That'll take some work. If I'm around, I'm definitely going to look into running the Chicago Marathon.

I'm hoping to do a 1/2 later this year... would like to do another full, but I just don't have the time to train for it.

I'm signed up for the St. Pat's 5 miler next Saturday and a marathon relay in April.

I'll probably do a half this fall.

I run after the ice cream truck. That's about it.

But it's cool to read about what you guys are doing. Post often, it'll be neat/fun to follow along.

I signed up for a 10 miler in april, but haven't had any time to train. it sucks. I have one month, and am hoping to start training this week, so that I can at least finish it.
I would like to do a 1/2 towards late summer/early fall.

Yup, that's me! LOL

Actually, back when I was young, dumb and full of stupidity, I would run 3 miles on M, T, W, Th and 6.2 miles on F.

Leaving Friday and Saturday nights for HEAVY drinking.

Did I mention "dumb"? :)

I run vicariously through reading threads like this and buying "Runners World" in order to feel like I'm athletic. Haha.

In all seriousness, I'm a slow-jog kind of guy. I don't like running for a specific time or specific distance. For me, I want to enjoy what's around me and I'll often slow to a walk to take in what's around me. My goals are to keep doing that. If I get faster, or run longer, great. All I need to do is run more than two miles under 17 minutes, and beyond that I enjoy.

You sound like you are from Colorado with all this running and biking stuff. I should know- I grew up in Boulder.

Grew up in South Dakota, but apparently I'm now a true Coloradoan :)

I'm all the way up here in Fort Collins. Let me know if you're ever up here and want to go for a ride (as I said, I'm not fast :) ), or just go out and grab a beer.

There is an event up there called the Community Classic Bike Tour up in your neck of the woods. Its a fun and pretty relaxed ride metric century. You should check it out.

Perhaps a Fat Tire Flyer beer? My parents are just up the road in Loveland.

Missed the last couple of responses here! :) Fat Tire is great, and they have a new one, Mighty Arrow, that's great. Holler if you're ever up here.

Just finished the Horsetooth Half today. Wow, that sucked. Too many hills. Finished a bit over 2:00, which wasn't too bad.
