LookOut was awesome. Then Microsoft took it over and encorporated the concept into the OS. I just want it to index and search email only, and live's searching abilities RARELY gives me what I need.

Does anyone know of a good plugin for Outlook 2003 that can be used as an alternative to Windows Live Search? (I just need Outlook indexing, I know how to find the rest of what I need inside the OS.)

Just go to Control Panel, Indexing Options and turn off everything else except for Outlook Indexing.

I also hate it for everything except Outlook. In Outlook it makes a HUGE difference. Everywhere else it's just a bother.

If you really want a different product, try Xobni (http://www.xobni.com/)

Thanks Jeff. I really wanted something inside Outlook's toolbars instead of sitting in my taskbar. Xobni looks pretty cool, trying it out now. It's takes more real estate than what I wanted, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Again, thanks.

Oh, you can also turn off the Live Index taskbar search box & just use the search box inside of Outlook. That's how mine is set up.
