How do you copy a single picture from a camera to a mac?
Is there a better method than using iPhoto and having to yank *all* the pics thats on the camera?
Isn't there something thats similar to windows where I can just browse the camera like a file system?

Not sure on your camera, but with mine (Canon) if I just plug it in iPhoto comes up. I can cancel that and then browse it as a file system through finder. Or at least I'm pretty sure I can.

most cameras, when connected, should be recognized as any other storage device. connecting the camera may trigger a photo program like iphoto to start, but you can always skip that and go directly into the camera memory card like it's another drive through explorer (win) or finder (MAC). then you just copy the file you want.

Yup... should come up as a separate hard drive file.

As a side note, if you want to disable the iphoto popup, that setting is in the image capture preferences. Not the most obvious place.

Actually back when I just got my camera, it was not yet supported by OS X so I couldn't access my images at all. Soon after, a software update fixed that so make sure you're running the latest.
