Japan vs USA: Dicek vs Peavy
Venezuela vs S Korea: Silva vs Yoon.

I've been paying some attention, but have been too busy working lately to watch the games. Its the crazy time of year for us.

Looks like a good set of teams up for the finals. USA really did get bit with the injury bug here.

yup. the US has a bunch of injuries, and Dunn's play at 1b is going to be suspect. Japan lost their biggest slugger, and are going to need to fly someone from japan to take his roster spot.
meanwhile, venezuela is dealing with their media craziness.
Korea, seems to be pretty trouble free, though had a few uncharacteristic errors.

I'm looking forward to a US-Korea lineup, though that may lose me some friends here in Korea. Still - I'm just happy that the Japanese knocked out the Cubans.

Yeah that was an awesome game last night. Ichiro is the most despised player by Koreans, since he trash talked them back in the first WBC. (http://www.seattlepi.com/baseball/263231_japan16.html?source=mypi) But man he came through when Japan needed it most. Great comeback by Korea, but Japan was just a little bit better this day.

Oh yeah and USA is never going to win in the WBC if they continue to play American long ball style baseball. They lost in the semi's because the coach screwed up and tried to play for the win rather than statistics.

yeah, pitching to ichiro was stupid. i think that was the whole korean pride thing going on rather than good baseball move. you have japan's best hitter, and a free bag, and they decide that they want to pitch to him to make him lose face rather than doing the smart baseball move. stinkin...

oh and the US semi game... batting longoria instead of victorino? really? that was a horrible move davey. horrible move.
