I built a computer for a friend of mine. It has an old Soundblaster Live sound card. The friend is using a very old CRT monitor with external speakers. However, there are no wire connections to the monitor, just to the sound card. There is a knob on the monitor for volume which has no effect.

Sound is coming through, but is very faint.

I have adjusted Windows volume control to Max and WMV to Max. I don't have aby software for this card. Could the lack of software be the culprit?

i try and see if there is drivers avail for the monitor .i also would think there be a plug someplace on the monitor for a sound lead cord(wire).

The plug is connected to the sound card. I will look for a driver. Thanks

it may also be you need a mixer program from sound blaster ,or bad speakers in the monitor :(
