Service Packs

i know there can be exceptions, but i'm just asking very generally....

let's assume application A has up to 3 service packs available. do the later service packs generally include all the fixes, updates, etc that were provided in the earlier service packs? in other words, should i install them all in order, or is it generally understood that you just need the latest one?

Totally depends on the application. However, you can assume that if it doesn't explicitly force you to do them in order, you can just install the latest to bring you fully up to date.
