that cashback is good on a lot of stores, not just eBay. When they first started they were giving some really good deals, glad I got in on some then. Another forum topic in gotapex talked about using it at HP. I would recommend searching through MSN live for your purchase to buy just in case it is covered, stacking your discounts. Just sign up with their cashback program and you can see it applied to all the stores they support. Nice.

I used this in January; took a few weeks to get the money, but I had to jump through some hoops - very minor ones. Just be sure to NOT hit the back button AND make sure all your emaiol addresses match. Missed out on one because my PayPal was different.

I liked the suggestions offered: I was able to shop at other stores, found a 20% off link and bought some things already on sale.

It also offered me another search for MSN for their points system (25 points a day max) that can be traded at the end of the promotion for software or other items, airline miles, and popular books.

Actually you get your 10% refund instantly if you use your PayPal balance to pay for the transaction. Very nice and no wait!!

Response from ebay: "I am sorry to inform you that you're not eligible for cashback. I can understand that it would be frustrating but as our records show that you're not eligible for, I won't be able to send you the cashback message. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to you. The possible reasons why you're not eligible for cashback: - You do not have a Microsoft Live account, or your PayPal and Microsoft Live accounts are not linked. - Your eBay session exceeded 60 minutes prior to completing the purchase.

Sorry to hear the cashback didn't work for you.

One thing I noticed, after you go click the www.ebay.com you should see a banner graphic at the top of eBay that says "Microsoft Cashback 8%". If that image isn't there when you get to ebay, clear your browser cookies and try again.
