Ok, the title may be misleading. I'm not trying to sell this computer here. I am however, hoping to get some ideas of it's value. In the last couple of months I have been building computers and selling them on Craigslist. I don't make a lot of money on it, but do it mostly because I enjoy it. Each time though, I'm able to make the system a little bit better. I sold this system last Saturday for 620
AMD 810 x4
MSI DKA 790gx
AMD 4830
250GB hard drive
4gb DDR2 800 RAM
500 watt power supply
Windows XP pro
Cooler Master ATCS case

It was a fairly fast sale, as I posted the computer on Friday evening. So, with the money I got, I ordered some more parts that are in the mail right now. I'm not entirely sure what to ask for it, and was hoping to get some opinions here.

This will be the build
AMD 940 black edition
Gigabyte 790x motherboard
ASUS top 4870
4 GB DDR2 1066
150GB Raptor hard drive
580 watt power supply
Windows XP pro
Thermaltake Xaser V case

I'm thinking about selling this for around 725-800. What do you guys think?

Not to jump in your market, but if you don't mind saying are you getting your parts from Newegg and the like? Also, are you offering any support for problems. Have thought of doing this for awhile, but didn't think I'd be able to realistically cover my costs and make at least a little money. I thought it would be a great project to get the kids in on to learn something about computers and business.
Thanks

Yeah, I'm getting most of the stuff from Newegg. I'm not a "professional", but I do offer what help I can give them. I don't make a whole lot of money, but the fun thing is that each time I build a new system, it's a little better. I started with an AMD 939 system, went to a quad core 9600, to a 9950, to a 810, and now to a 940. If you use some parts you already have like power supplies, optical drives, operating systems, and cases, you can save quite a bit.

Oh look 1,000 posts :)

LOL, I'll put a little extra home made Bailey's in my coffee and toast your 1000th this morning. Cool, I don't have too many parts laying around from the modern age of computing anymore. ~2 years ago Newegg had quite a few deals of almost free on cases and some other parts at various times and that's what got me thinking about building to sell. Don't see those deals much, but may start taking deals they do have and piece a couple together.
Thanks

must be racking a whole bunch of rewards on your credit cards though.
