No word yet on whether Saturn, Saab or Hummer will also be killed. They also announced 23,000 more layoffs by 2011 (http://money.cnn.com/2009/04/27/news/economy/auto_workers/index.htm?postversion=2009042713).

No surprise here...
I called it back here: http://www.gotapex.com/automotive-and-transportation/173865-its-muscle-car-glory-faded-pontiac-shrivels-up.html
Saturn, Hummer, and Saab are probably gonna go as well... and maybe they should still consider letting go of Buick as well and focus on making Chevy's better (unless they really want to focus on improving the Buick perception amongst younger customers...)
Also, what about GMC? Would they consider not having a separate truck brand aside from Chevy "Silverado" and Cadillace "Escalade"? If they want a separate truck line, should they just fold all of that into GMC/Caddy... or just have Chevy/Caddy trucks?

Wonder if the Dodge Challenger will survive the muscle/sportish car slump. I like that car, have thought about getting one actually.

Get one! Then if they kill the brand you'll have a collector's car in 30 years.

it would be sad to see saturn & saab go.
Hummer... ill conceived from the beginning.
pontiac should've gone back when oldsmobile said bye. back then, I thought oldsmobiles had better looking cars than pontiac... they just had a suckier name...
