Palm IIIxe deal

Do you think this will work.
I ordered Palm IIIxe yesterday from staples.com, and then canceled order.
This way I was able to print out a receipt dated by Jan 19th(the last day you have to buy palm and get 50 rebate).
SO now If i find a better deal and order one from Amazon or somewhere else, do you think they can link the receipt(ie canceled order) to the actual Palm pilot I plan to buy in about a week(ie one week after rebate date expires)

What are your views?

it's possible, but you may end up getting screwed/ make sure you dont open the palm packaging unless you want the palm even if the rebate doesnt work, so you can return it.

I should of thought about that. The company I was working for had me install a bunch of palmiiixe's for various people. I wanted to take the UPC's, which were being chucked, and grab a few hundred bucks - but I didn't know how to get a reciept. Blah.
