Yeah - there are a few driving around. It's nice, but not 'wow!' nice. I sure wouldn't mind taking one for a spin, tho.

I'd like to see a picture of the kid that rear ended him. That's probably a far more horrific site after his brand new camaro was totaled.

If you keep reading, it looks like he hit a pole somehow... And just made stuff up after the fact...

It's awesome how forums work. it's like this gigantic game of telephone that never works out right.

they (insurance company) sell it for salvage and some one going to get a hell of a deal on the camaro. and unless it was a pre-order it is most likely a factory own car. just the used parts will bring in well over what the unit cost new for the next couple of years !

The Camaro will always be one of my favorites; my old man has a Nantucket Blue '67.

I'm excited to see the new Camaro on the road...I only had a chance to check them out at the auto show, but I think it will be a winner.

How do you rear end a pole like that?

I dunno about that... at least not with that kind of damage on it. He looks bonafide "rear ended".

Another thread over there shows some more pics where you can see the imprint of the pole.

You still raise a good question, though. My best guess is they lost control, cut the wheel all the way in the opposite direction and spun out right into a utility pole.

** Edit **
Upon further reading, the guy ended up posting pics a couple of pages later showing the other car at the scene of the accident.

It looks like he got rear ended and then a pole? haha who knows. But the explorer beat the crap out of him, and that's sad. :(

It's obvious that the Camaro's owner has PLENTY of cash to get a new one. Even at "above MSRP" price if necessary.

The driver of the camaro was posting on another board where he stated such information.

Basically he told everyone how he's got the money buy another one, yet the insurance was gonna cover this one.

Also, I guess he got both "rear ended" and "pole ended"... The Furd Exploder hit him in the rear quarter panel and sent him into a spin that landed him into a telephone pole.

He says he was only doing 25 to 55 MPH (kinda sketchy getting his story straight), however he admitted to taking it up to 146 the day before "just to see what it could do"...

It was even speculated that he might've ran a red light when he got clipped. But hey, I guess that's what the insurance inspector and the officer writing the report have to decide. One thing that is known... the driver of the "Exploder" was young and didn't have insurance. And that, is not good.

/me makes sure I keep "uninsured/underinsured motorist" coverage on my vehicle.
