Google Voice?

Anyone on here had a chance to try out Google Voice yet? I've been on the waiting list for months and still nothing. My wife signed up two days ago and got her invite this morning! Grrr...

Anyway, so far been pretty impressed with the service. Just curious what others think about it.

I'd like to try this and quite a few of their other apps, but to be honest am too paranoid about privacy. From what I read Google keeps track of everything, and I really don't like that. Maybe overly paranoid, but it would be so easy to take just about anything someone does or says anymore and edit to what the other wants it to imply or say.

Have been using it since it was Grand Central. I use it mostly for CL purpose when I don't want the other party to know my real cell phone number. Free outgoing text message is great also but I have unlimited messaging plan so it doesn't matter to me.

i love it.

i haven't used it for cl yet, but i suppose i would. haven't sold anything on it yet.

i've also been using it to contact car dealerships so that i don't get annoyed by constant return calls.

if anyone uses gizmo5, there's integration with it. sweetness.

Friend uses it with fav 5 and now he gets unlimited from the google number which is pretty neat imo. You just give out your google number instead of your cell.

It's been a 24 hour turnaround for my wife and me as well. Neither of us are in the military and we signed up with the normal page. :shrug:

Also right now they are giving away free calling cards with your new number printed on them. They even pay for the shipping.

i signed up for it about a week ago, and got the invite 3 days later. I kinda like it, I really dig the voicemail to text, and the ability to listen in on voicemail messages in real time.
