The glider port sits high on a cliff overlooking the Pacific ocean and they now have a lifeguard chair way up on the cliff (I guess there is somebody also stationed on the beach below in case of trouble).

To give you some idea of how high up it is, here is the view below (although there may be naked people down there you cannot tell in this shot). I watched some dolphins swim by in the waves from up there. They would swim parellel to the shore but once in a while ride a wave in a bit. Too far away to get a decent shot of that.
