Eh, they probably just rusted through.
Didn't the owner hear the racket when they started to wear out the rotor?

took mine in for new front brakes last fri. ended up walking out 1995.16 lighter in the wallet...

it needed a few other things...new manifold, rear struts, front hub assembly. i inherited a lemon...

looks fine. started up a discussion ont hat other forum about how this must've been fake.
but others are saying one caliper can fail and cause one break to wear like crazy.

It does look fake. It seems to me that it wouldn't wear through cleanly and all around like that. Instead, one place would wear through first and the rotor would catch and shatter.
