No disrespect to Apex for this one, but that knife is a genuine POS...
They very blatantly(SP?) modeled it after the Microtech Vector, which comes in auto and manual versons.
http://onestopknifeshop.com/store/microtech-vector-auto.html
And they even used Benchmades axis lock
http://onestopknifeshop.com/store/benchmade-720-mel-pardue-axis-lock.html
You can click on their respective pictures to get a closer view of it...
Trust me on this one guys, you do not want to get this knife...it will probably fall apart on you rather quickly...
If you want a VERY GOOD knife that can take a lot of abuse and use, get yourself a Microtech LCC. The manual version can be had for about $140 and the automatic(with a hidden bolster release) for about $250...although a price increase of about $50-$60 is expected in a few months...
Here is a 3MB mpg clip of the automatic LCC and how to use it(the reason being that it is so well hidden that some people who bought it couldnt figure out how to fire it)...
http://www.constructionloancenter.com/images2/lccda.mpg
Makes a sweet KERTWACK! sound when it opens...sorry a win2k driver bug prevented me from recording the sound...
Microtech also offers a lifetime warranty and awesome customer service/support.

Lessee, $7 or $140/$250 (for a knife.....)
I just ordered my T3 Knife earlier in the day. I must say that the 4" blade sold me. Much fiercer than a <3" blade from the other more expensive knives. But, those knives are pretty sweet too!

got myself that t3 knife, the 7-pc set, the no-frills swiss army knife and a blow torch lighter thingy. 26 bucks for some nice decent camping equipment ain't bad at all.
$6 for a piece of shit knife aint that big a deal

You guys may be satisfied with it...but let me tell you, you get what you pay for.
And a 4 inch blade doesn't mean much...
The Microtech UDT only has a 2.75 inch blade, and I guarantee you that it will outlast this knife anyday...
The LCC was also only a suggestion...there are other knives out there for far less that and are still better than that thing....go over to any knifeforum and pick up a benchmade from a private seller, you will pay more than $6 but it will last...
And $250 for the automatic LCC is a steal...You will not find that kind of quality in any other knife for under $400
You also have to look at this from a cops point of view...if you get pulled over or are doing something you shouldn't be doing, having a knife in your pocket isn't the best thing. But if that knife is a cheapy, then he's gonna think you have it just to cause trouble with it...if it is a nicer knife made by a reputable compay, he will tend to be more at ease with it being in your pocket...
If you are going to be carrying a knife I also suggest finding out what state and local laws apply to you...you'd be surprised how trivial a thing can be considered a FELONY.
Be warned...when the knife fails on you when you need it most, just remember, "I told you so."

don't know about you, but there's never been a time when i "most need" a knife. it cuts fishing line, widdles a stick, looks mean and can cut me if i use it carelessly. if it breaks, eh, i'll use my teeth or a nail clipper. rambo was just a movie, right?

$250?! $400?! It's a frikkin' KNIFE fer chrissakes!

heh, I find your comment amusing. The cop is going to look at you with great suspicion without any regard as to the make of the knife...
For $7, I can scare my friends, family, and have a tool for whenever I need something cut(my new steak knife?). I doubt I'm going to enter the realm of armed robbery... :)

First off...this is my last post on this thread...I was just offering my opinion, and some advice...
And yes, $400 for a knife..granted, I wouldn't use it but rather keep it as a collectors piece...There are other knives out there at much higher prices...including some custom ones that have waiting periods of up to a few years...
Case in point.
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=549036686
Look at the price, and the size of it....
And yes, cops will view it differently...a cheap knife has basically one purpose, and that is for assaults, roberies, etc....
A thug won't go out and spend $200+ on a knife to cause trouble with it...
The only point I was trying to make is that for $6, it won't be much of a knife, so don't rely on it.
And again, this is all just my $0.02
If you do buy it, be careful because if their verson of the axis lock isn't made well then the knife may close on your fingers...and I am sure you don't want that to happen.

My oppinion is if you use this knife, update your health insurance because you are gonna really mess yourself up. Granted it is only $6, but your health insurance deductable is probably $20 so it is at least $26? not to mention can you actually use those cut tendons anymore...
If you need a pocket knife get a leatherman micra for $11.

Not to be mean to the knife enthusiast here, but I just thought it was kinda of funny how someone put up a link to show how expensive and valuable a good knife is on ebay, but when you look at it there wasn't a single bid for the thing. Thats all. Have fun with the knives though, they do look cool, even if they may not be up to par for some.

I'd rather have cheap knives that look cool, because I wreck good stuff.

As far as getting pulled over by a cop goes, I'd think that a cop would be far more suspicious of an "automatic" opening knife.
Also, granted that there will be a difference between a sub-$25 knife and an above $100 knife, but how can anyone knock this so badly if they've never even held this knife in their hands? They may not be collectors' items, but there are plenty of $5, $10 and $15 knives at Walmart, Kmart, etc. that are perfectly sufficient for a camper or a hiker or a fisherman's needs.
Do the locking mechanisms on them break? On some, yes. On most, no. One of my college roommates actually wound up at the campus clinic when the blade on his $70+ knife (and this was in the 70's!) snapped shut despite it's locking mechanism, so price doesn't dictate safety.
Just like with anything else, whether the knife is cheap or expensive, the most common cause of an accident is the person using it (brain failure vs. knife failure.)

First of all, cops will always give you a hard time if they find you will a knive where the blade is longer than the palm of your hand, regardless of the quality or cost. You can kill a person with a $6 knife as easily as you would with a $250 knife. So that justification to buy the Microtech UDT is just lame.
Also, $250 for that knife is too expensive. Especially since the blade is so small. That is not a deal!

TRUE STORY...
I was driving home the other day in my convertable, when a cop pulled me over. I had just slaughtered a few punk-ass teenagers with my new knife(they looked at me funny!). The cop spotted my bloody knife on the front seat.
He asked "Hey...your not one of those ass-clowns who use $250 knifes for crimes...are you"?
I replied "Actually this is my $6 knife from ShippingOnly.com"!
The cop was so impressed with my "good deal" that we stood around drinking beer and telling funny teen-bludgeoning stories. His fellow officer buddies were impressed that the locking mechanism on the Terminator T3, didn't even break when I stabbed them in their bullet-proof vests!
I left, but not before giving them the GotApex address. They gave me an honorary patrol badge!
Now THAT'S a DEAL!

Talk2raffi - I know you're not going to reply but I just talked to a few police officers that I happen to know.... They basically laughed when I told them of your commentary. A knife is a knife. Sure, there might be a few knife afficionados in the police department but the vast majority ain't going to know or take into account the make of a knife...

Perhaps its time to revive those old threads on the Heckler & Koch automatic machine grenade launchers.
No sense taking someone out one tendon at a time when you can mow down city blocks in under 10 seconds!

Hey Talk2raffi,
That $0.02 opinion of yours might not hold up on you too well. Sure it is only 2 cents, but what happens when it fails you when you need it most?
There are much better opinions to be had. Something in the $250-$400 range is much better.
If a cop were to pull you over with your cheap opinion, he would probably shoot you. Now, if you were packing a fine $300 opinion, he would probably make you a sandwich or something (if he uses a $6 knife though, you should feel free to stab him, as he clearly deserves it for wielding such a shoddy blade).

I don't see what the big fuss is about this. I'm just getting this as a collectors item. If you guys are so bent on carrying it in your car and having hopes of one day running that thing through another guys chest , go out and buy a military issued knife (a SOG Navy seal knife only cost $30) or throwing knives ($5 a peice if you buy a lot of these, you can plug a few into the guy before he even drops to the ground), they're cheap and durable.

I want to start by saying this is a deals page not an info one but i have been reading all of these posts and cant take it anymore so I have to share my knowledge.
I am a knife salesman and my girlfriends father is a cop so i think i am qualified to reply to all of the above posts.
First of all anyone who expects this "free" knife to be of the greatest quality should not be allowed to have any sharp objects.
Second anyone that is so concerned about being stuck without a knife, because a cheap one they got for shipping only broke, should save up and email me to get a good knife and get some help.
Now about quality the best kind of metal is high carbon stain resistant steel, because it retains its shine for showmanship and holds a sharp edge due to its high carbon count. Stainless steel looks nice but gets dull quickly.
The type of blade is also important. Any serrated blade will not last because once its serrations are worn down it is useless. It can never be resharpened because serrated edges do not really cut anything they just shred it. They only "cut" during a backward motion because of their design. As for the locking mechanism, who knows even the best of them break.
Now for the policeman interpretation of what u r doing with a T3 knife as opposed to a $500 dollar one. Dialogue:
Cop "R there any sharp objects on ur person that may harm me if i try to search u?
YOU OPTION 1. No.
He then searches u and finds a T3. You are on the floor prob getting ur ass beat, and he is wondering why u r hiding a big knife from him.
or..He finds an expensive knife. SEE ABOVE.
It doesnt matter if u have an inexpensive knife or an expensive one you will not be treated differently, and the cop most likely wouldn't know the difference anyway. Same goes for the Sawed off Shotgun argument Vs. the chrome plated platinum glock.
Hope this settles some things.

I was actually pulled over by a cop for going 5mph over the 55mph speed limit. As he approached me I was cleaning my fingernails with the T3. The cop said "Hey, give me the knife!" I said "hold on, I'm not finished." As he stood there with his GLOCK pointed at my forehead I finished cleaning my fingernails. He called for backup when he noticed my cheap T3. I tried to get the dirt out of my fingernails as fast as I could muster but... damm I cut myself because the axis lock was too cheap. I screamed like a bitch, he thought I was going to attack...he shot 16 rounds into my chest...I wish I had the Microtech LCC.

geeez you people talk about this damn knife like its a mirical drug. or the fate of mankind depends on your having this modern marvel.......
ITS A KNIFE!!!
who cares
its like saying
"hey man i got this new toliet paper today, OH MY GOD is it great. Not only does it clean, but its comforting and reasuring too. I have enver seen anything like it. It will revolutionize the ass wiping world as we know it. you ahve to get some."
AUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and if you ahve a knife on you the cop doesnt give a shit how much it cost, wether it s a $5 knife or a $500 knife, it can still slice up a man if you try and the cop will still defend himslef accordingly. Hes not goona say, "oh shit, he got a T3, guess I need to stnad here and get stabbed cause thats a damn nice knife. I cant talk that away from him"
Come on people
<BTW thank you sportzcoop for making a very good point, didnt see that b4 i posted dont know how i missed it>

Heh, it's pretty sweet. I like it. Then again, I'm kinda into collecting deals related things. Go figure.
i just wanna say that i WOULD buy this knife, but only because the expectation that it is not a $100 knife is already set. the quality here is not as important to me.
conversely, on another board i saw that wal-mart was selling a "student guitar" for $5. :puke: i told everyone there the same thing as noted by raffi. i would not buy a $5 guitar for anyone. the quality would discourage anyone that is trying to learn, and they would give up, thinking that they suck....when it is actually the guitar that sucks. :smash: a decent guitar will cost at least like $250 for a "student model."
so that is my $.02. of course, don't pull either your squire strat OR your paul reed  smith on a cop!

If people want this knife let them get it. It this knife does the same thing as the $400 model fine. If no oh well atleast they didn't spend 400 on a knife that broke on them. I knife is one purpose... to cut things.... if it cuts it's doing it's job. if it breaks, then the t3 is cheap enough to replace.

Last post hopefully here..this was an amusing thread...let's get it straight. Hope the GotApex deal was not misleading to anyone. THIS IS A CHEAP KNIFE so treat it that way. *Be careful* It is not a high quality knife at a cut-throat price. I figure a "deal" is usualy reserved for high quality-high priced items that you can get at discount or bargain basement prices. So a person who is not keen on the quality scale in knives may think this is a good knife because it looks so cool for a exceptional price, which in fact it isnt. This is a cheap knife which reflects its cheap price. Only people who dont know about knives are going to buy it, or people who are curious abount owning a "cool" knife. Thats all. Not much of a "Deal" but rather a curio or a keepsake.

i think we all know that it is a cheap knife. everyone here has said it is a cheap knife and not to be relied on for life-sustaining purposes. i guess it's not a deal, either. hm, well, i hope those that bought it feel bad enough about apparently getting taken in by this....hehe. j/k!...amazing how what other ppl want and may even be happy with can frustrate others so much. i understand because of the afforementioneed guitar deal. it actually bothers me that ppl would buy a cheaply made guitar! :disa: but i guess if they are happy with it, then they should be left alone

I just received my knife on saturday. I ordered it the same day it was posted on the deals page. The knife looks pretty cool, but it not the best quality(At least it is sharp). The blade at least locks in the open position so it does not close when you are holding it. In my opinion it is probably worth the shipping only price.
