Hallo,
I need a good bluetooth voice solution for talking on the phone at home. Ideally I don't want to spend too much, $40 is the budget for regular stuff and $80 is the budget for something really extraordinary.

The Problem:
my blackberry storm. the voice quality sucks when I talk to my gf. She can't hear me, i sound like i'm mumbling, etc. If I use a regular phone no problem. I have a big head, so the microphone on the bottom of the phone is REALLY far from my mouth. This must be the problem

ideas-
a good bluetooth headset with a really long boom, that i can wear around the house. Maybe one that has a base I can drop the headset in, to recharge?

One of those bluetooth / 5.4ghz cordless phones, where you sit the phone beside the cordless base, and carry the new handset around with you?

anyone got ideas or things that worked for them?

Thanks!

I have a blueant micro with a blackberry curve. I think it was $50 on amazon. I remember getting advice from... bachviet recommending them. It came with a nifty little recharger for the house and computer, and a separate one for the car. My wife says I sound very clear when talking to her. She is pretty loud and clear on my side, much more than my phone's speaker.

/not really helpful

Thanks for the recommendation, but the reviews on amazon are pretty poor. I'm leaning toward a plantronics voyager pro, but its like $85.. guess you gotta pay to play. i want something like this for my big melon of a head

have you thought about using the speakerphone function? I use it all the time with my calls and nobody ever complains they can't hear me.

just a thought.

as far as bluetooth headset recommendations, you can't go wrong with a plantronics. i'm personally using a motorola h500 over the ear headset.

Plantronics definitely makes some high-quality headsets.

Just curious, you don't by chance have an Otterbox defender case on your Storm, do you? If so, that could be causing the issue right there (I got rid of my Otterbox because of that).

hey dudes,
good suggestions all around, so thanks for that, but
Ray : speakerphone is bad for talking dirty to my girlfriend
GuruX I don't have that case, i'm ridin dirty with the storm and no case. I'll probably end up getting plantronix and hoping the single dumpy piece of plastic is worth $85 and isn't gonna get lost or squashed
